Patrick Troughton

Patrick Troughton played the quirky and recorder-playing Second Doctor in Doctor Who. He portrayed this role from 1966-1969. He returned to play the role several times, once in 1973 for The Three Doctors, the second time in 1983 for The Five Doctors and the final time with the Sixth Doctor in 1985 for The Two Doctors. He was temporarily restrained from acting because of worries about bad health. The following two years after the 1985 serial, he died of a heart attack, the third in a series.

His son, David Troughton, now portrays his role in audio stories for Big Finish Productions.
